New Year – LASA’s Exciting Professional Development Opportunity in February 2017!!
If your company’s New Year’s resolution relates to professional development for your staff, we are here to assist. The development of your workforce requires quality training and education to be available not only for people interested in joining age care but just as importantly for people already working in the industry. Our Leadership and Management Professional Development programme is an amazing opportunity to assist your team to maintain and enhance their skills and knowledge, while also leading towards a Diploma in Leadership and Management, should they wish to. At LASA, we believe that leadership and learning are indispensable to each other.
Our February course offers participants the opportunity to join others in a contextualised program of plenary style sessions covering topics and issues common to all sectors across Australia’s age care environment, retirement living, home care and residential care.
The Professional Development (PD) Program comprises 3 days of plenary sessions each morning and interactive stream specific panels, workshops and facilitated discussions each afternoon. We have confirmed speakers and facilitators from the Australian and Queensland government departments, HR specialists, Legal advisors, key LASA representatives, Consultants from the aged care sector and Providers of Age Care.
Each afternoon provides an optional extra session which work towards the process of Recognition of prior learning (RPL) into the Diploma of Leadership and Management. LASA’s Education & Training Coordinator will facilitate these short sessions to assist participants to gain an understanding of the Recognition process, analyse his/her skills and determine the evidence that will be required and negotiate timeframes, prepare and submit an RPL folio.
